New Zealand media’s disgraceful alliance with discredited partisan Associated Press

Government owned TV One especially likes to syndicate Associated Press articles. For five years they’ve been reproducing yellow anti-Trump bigotry that has given a completely false picture of US politics to any poor fool who trusts TV One as a news source.
No matter how many times the falsity of AP’s reporting is revealed, TV One and other mainstream NZ media continue to reproduce its partisan garbage.
AP’s latest lie is especially remarkable. They have stated they did not know they were sharing a building in Gaza with Hamas. The 12-story building was destroyed by an Israeli airstrike an hour after the Israeli military ordered it evacuated, saying the high-rise was targeted because it was being used by Hamas military intelligence. AP’s CEO Gary Pruitt said yesterday:
“We have had no indication Hamas was in the building or active in the building. This is something we actively check to the best of our ability. We would never knowingly put our journalists at risk.”
If true this says a lot about AP’s nose for news. They shared a building with a major organiser of global and middle east terror for fifteen years and didn’t know? Its a lie of course. Other reporters have been quick to expose it as such. Noel Pollack of the Free Beacon tweeted:
“Spoke to a well-placed friend in the IDF just now. The bombed AP office building contained multiple Hamas operations & offices including weapons manufacturing and military intelligence. The building also housed an Islamic Jihad office. And AP’s local reporters knew about it.”
Matti Friedman wrote in a 2014 Atlantic piece:
“When Hamas’ leaders surveyed their assets before this summer’s round of fighting, they knew that among those assets was the international press. The AP staff in Gaza City would witness a rocket launch right beside their office, endangering reporters and other civilians nearby, and the AP wouldn’t report it.”
Senator Tom Cotton questioned AP’s impartiality yesterday, when he asked on the Senate floor:
“Why is the Associated Press sharing a building with Hamas? Surely these ‘intrepid reporters’ knew who their neighbors were. Did they knowingly allow themselves to be used as human shields by a US-designated terrorist organization? Did AP pull its punches and decline to report for years on Hamas’ misdeeds? I submit that the AP has some uncomfortable questions to answer, yet the AP and its fellow journalists are in high dudgeon about Israel’s wholly appropriate airstrike. Leave it to whiny reporters to make themselves the story and the victim when terrorists are shooting missiles at innocent civilians.”
Associated Press is one of the major reasons consumers of news do not trust the media anymore. NZ’s media only dig a deeper hole for themselves by continuing to syndicate reports from this ugly left wing organisation of political activists and fake newsers.
You are wrong to call them media, they are Enemedia. They are the enemy of the people and truth.
