I’ve spent some time in Indonesia over the years, and met many good people. Still have friends there. In fact I was there for some months working with an Indonesian company only a short time ago.

The loss of the submarine KRI Nanggala-402 is a sad and tragic event. I want to express condolences to the families of the crew, and the people of Indonesia.

Fifty three brave men died in service, protecting their families and their country, and they deserve respect, honour and reverence.
