Getting NZ back on track may be a bigger job than the new coalition govt realises. I’ve just listened to a series of speeches by the Chief Executive of NZ Transport Agency. Ms Nicole Rosie.
I saw an absolutely staggering degree of devotion to “woke” and Green Left ideology, and if this is an example of how all NZ govt agencies operate today, then we’re in a deep dark swamp that we may never crawl out of.
Not one word about fixing potholes. Its all diversity, inclusion, sustainability, and Maori partnerships. And did I mention sustainability?
Their main mission is not to build fast efficient roads, but to reduce by any possible means, Vehicle Kilometres Traveled (VKT) in private cars. Fine with the WEF no doubt, but exactly the opposite of what most NZ voters want.
The attached video (if you can stomach it) is only three minutes but its pretty much representative of the whole 20 minute speech.
If the new govt truly wants to fix our transport network, we need a sharp focus on building fast efficient roads. Everything else is just time/ money wasting overkill that needs to go.
The fix must also start at the top. If Ms Rosie can’t be made to understand the simplified mission, she should be told to quit her job right now. Next career step could be a candidacy for the Green Party.

These delusional useful idiots have hijacked New Zealand’s entire public service and are systematically destroying the country. There isn’t a single political party or politician with the guts to stand against the tyranny. We are truly in deep deep trouble.

Sustainability? Well it is her position with NZTA that is not sustainable.
Explains many of the insane and questionable decisions that have been coming out of NZTA.

What a load of crap. A 10 year old could have been taught to write this load of rubbish. Slowing down the roading network has a flow on effect to productivity which is what this country desperately needs

NZTA was the first government department to move Waka Kotahi to second place behind NZTA so maybe there is some hope

The most important issue is to get rid of the Network Outcome Contracts (NOC) state highway maintenance contracts that are held by the two biggest companies for up to 9 years. Nothing gets fixed!! Then they cream it when there is a “weather event “. Get rid of these rorts and get more local companies involved. NZTA have proven to be grossly ineffective at managing these big contracts.
