Yet another example of politicians doing the bidding of global organisations rather than serving the people who voted for them.
The UK is no longer part of the European Union, so did not join up with the EU’s jackbooted attempts to stifle free speech on the internet. (the DSA) Until now that is.
Rishi Sunak’s govt has yielded and set up its own internet regulatory agency. Enabled by the recent Online Safety Act it will work under Ofcom, the govt organisation that already regulates conventional media.
Due to recent layoffs in the tech sector the UK govt has had no trouble recruiting staff for its new organisation. People from Meta, Twitter, and Google have flocked to apply for jobs as online censors. The attached picture shows the executive team.
What’s the first and second thing you notice? (excepting maybe Almudena who looks a bit undefined 🙂 ) Of course this kind of censorship is already happening in NZ, but you wait. Its going to get a lot worse.

Clue, please.
I only get the obvious one.

I might have been a bit obtuse- 🙂
1) They’re all women
2) They’re all white
A bit unexpected in an organisation such as this, (with the DEI mania that currently prevails.)

During ww2 my parents listened to the BBC to get some semblance of truth, it was a death sentence to get caught. Now if you don’t they will destroy you in other ways
